The San Francisco Giants will host the San Diego Padres for Game three of their four-Game divisional set this Wednesday from Petco Park. The Giants have taken both contests in walk-off fashion.
Padres Betting Preview
San Diego moved to 35-38 after losing to San Francisco. The Padres let another one slip away from them, and they’ll look to slow the Giants down here in Game three. The San Diego offense is scoring 4.31 runs per Game, while batting .228, with a .317 on-base percentage. The pitching staff carries a 3.76 ERA, with a 1.23 WHIP. Fernando Tatis has collected a hit in nine of the last ten Games, and he leads the team in home runs (14) and RBI (34). Juan Soto tied the team-lead in RBI (34), by producing a run in the Game two win over Tampa, and he’s also hit eleven home runs. Manny Machado played runs in both victories over the Rays, and he’s posting splits of .249/8/28.
Yu Darvish (5-5, 4.74 ERA, 79 Ks) will get the ball for San Diego. The eleventh-year pitcher was overwhelmed by the bats of Tampa last time out at home, giving up six runs in five innings to earn his fifth loss of the season. Darvish has shown some signs of age and vulnerability this season, and after allowing four runs or more in five of his last six starts, he’s starting to feel more like a target than a feared ace. Darvish allowed four runs in six innings to San Francisco in his first start against them this season back in late April.

Giants Betting Preview
San Francisco comes in at 41-32 after defeating San Diego. The Giants are streaking right now, and after another divisional victory, they’ll look to make it ten straight here Wednesday night. The San Francisco offense is scoring 4.81 runs per game, while batting .245, with a .317 on-base percentage. The pitching staff carries a 3.97 ERA, with a 1.29 WHIP. Mike Conforto plated a run in the series finale versus LAD, and he leads the Giants in HR (12) and RBI (37). J.D. Davis went off and produced five runs in the game two victory to bring his splits to .288/10/40. Thiaro Estrada has multiple hits in three of the last five games, and he leads SFG in batting (.292), with nine homers and 28 RBI.
Ryan Walker (2-0, 1.23 ERA, 15 Ks) will open the Game for San Francisco. The Giants reverted to the rookie pitcher after putting Alex Cobb, arguably their best pitcher this season, on the designated list prior to Monday’s contests and he’s set to go again here. Walker has been solid in his own right out of the bullpen for SFG, only allowing a run in two of twelve appearances.
San Diego vs San Francisco Trends
San Diego is 39-27 against the spread this season, with a 37-29 O/U record. San Francisco is 38-35 ATS this year, with a 27-36-2 over/under record.
Corey’s Free Pick
San Diego has come close to snapping San Francisco’s win streak, and while I’d like to believe it ends with Yu Darvish set to go for SD, I’m not convinced. The veteran pitcher has been a shell of himself and clearly taken a step back from his impressive 2022 season, and he’s about to run into the hottest team in the majors here. San Francisco’s playing at a very high level right now, and they should find success off of Darvish at the plate here in Game three. Back the Giants for Game three, as they may even not need the walk off this time around.
