Bournemouth have confirmed the appointment of Gary O'Neil as the club's permanent head coach after a successful spell as caretaker manager. The ex-West Ham midfielder has signed an 18 month deal at the club, with Bournemouth having the option to extend by a further year. A statement on the club's website on the news reads: "AFC Bournemouth are delighted to announce the appointment of Gary O’Neil as the club’s new head coach . "O’Neil has agreed terms on an initial one-and-a-half year contract which has the provision to be extended for a further 12 months." Speaking to the club's website, chief executive Neill Blake said: "Gary did an excellent job on an interim basis and the board are delighted to make his position as head coach permanent.
