Erik ten Hag reveals the 'great frustration' of Man Utd's season

Image
Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has insisted injuries have been largely to blame for the club's disappointing season so far. The Red Devils were expected to kick on this year after a fine debut campaign with Ten Hag at the helm, finishing third in the Premier League and winning the Carabao Cup. But United were eliminated at the group stage upon their return to the Champions League this season, while they currently sit sixth in the Premier League table. United can close the gap on Aston Villa - who currently sit fourth but could be overtaken by Tottenham Hotspur in they win on Saturday - to five points with victory in the West Midlands on Sunday. Ahead of that Game , Sky Sports asked Ten Hag whether the ' great frustration' of his side's season so far has been their overwhelming injury list. "Absolutely," he replied. "It stops the progress. "Every time you have to adjust you don't have routines, you don't have partnerships and that i...

Erik ten Hag reveals main issue behind Man Utd's awful 2023/24 season

Image
Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag believes injuries are the main reason behind their poor 2023/24 season so far. The Red Devils fell to their ninth loss in 20 Premier League Game s this term on Saturday night with a dismal 2-1 defeat at Nottingham Forest. Nicolas Dominguez opened the scoring for the hosts just after the hour mark before Matt Turner gifted Marcus Rashford an equaliser, only for Morgan Gibbs-White to go back down the other end and grab the winner. Once again, United dealt their fans another false dawn after coming from two goals down to beat Aston Villa 3-2 in an enthralling encounter on Boxing Day, only to lose while playing so timidly days later. United were without the hero of that Boxing Day clash in Rasmus Hojlund due to illness, while the likes of Lisandro Martinez, Casemiro, Mason Mount and Harry Maguire all missed the trip to the City Ground due to injuries. Ten Hag preached post-match that the inability to consistently play a strong team has hurt their a...

What does QBR rating mean? Who are the highest rated quarterbacks in the NFL so far this season?

In American football, “QBR” is an abbreviation for “Quarterback Rating”. This metric is used to measure a quarterback’s performance during a game. There are two main quarterback rating systems used in football, which are often confused with each other: the NFL Passer Rating and ESPN’s Total Quarterback Rating (QBR). NFL Passer Rating The NFL Passer Rating is a widely used statistic to measure a quarterback’s passing performance. It considers four factors: completion percentage, yards per attempt, touchdown percentage, and interception percentage. The formula to calculate the Passer Rating is slightly complex and involves these four components. The rating ranges from 0 to 158.3 , with a higher rating indicating a better performance. Total Quarterback Rating (QBR) ESPN’s Total Quarterback Rating, also known as QBR, is a metric introduced by ESPN to provide a more complete evaluation of a quarterback’s overall contribution to a game. QBR considers various factors, including passing ...

Jurgen Klopp explains how Darwin Nunez has improved this season

Image
Jurgen Klopp has revealed that the "main difference" in Darwin Nunez's Game this season is his defensive work rate. Nunez was signed for a whopping £65m by Liverpool from Benfica last summer, but was in and out of the starting lineup throughout the 2022/23 campaign - stating 19 of his 29 Premier League appearances. Despite this and the signing of Cody Gakpo - a player who thoroughly impressed in the second half of last season - Liverpool showed faith in Nunez as their potential starting striker during the summer by giving the Uruguayan the club's famous number nine jersey. And since then, Nunez has more than repaid that faith shown. The Uruguayan has tallied four goal contributions thus far during 2023/24, with his most recent one being a stunning volleyed goal in the 3-1 win over West Ham United at Anfield. As college football season arrives, schools pay monitors to stop players and staff from gambling

University athletic departments and college conferences use independent sports-betting monitoring services to make sure athletes and staff do not bet on sports LAS VEGAS -- North Carolina junior tight end John Copenhaver gets a group text message from his university pointing out the latest betting scandal or reminding him of the importance of not violating rules against betting on sports. “It’s being put in our heads every single day," he said. Schools feel they have no choice. The spread of legalized sports gambling — and some early scandals — have captured the full attention of athletic departments and conference offices. All major conferences are paying independent betting monitors to make sure their athletes abide by the rules — and to catch those who are not. All of this means the personal information surrendered by athletes — birthdays, addresses, Social Security numbers, cellphone numbers — is used in a way unlike the same information shared by their fellow students. Some c...
