A grand jury has indicted a former San Antonio Police officer on two counts of aggravated assault after shooting an unarmed teen. A grand jury has indicted former San Antonio Police officer James Brennand on two counts of aggravated assault and one count of attempted murder after he allegedly shot at unarmed 17-year-old Erik Cantu in a McDonald's parking lot. Bexar County District Attorney Joe Gonzales announced the indictment at a Thursday press conference. He said his office 's civil rights division will now proceed with the prosecution in the case, including a possible trial, in order to attempt to convict Brennand.
