The sailor spoke about the sighting of UFOs in the Bermuda Triangle
Greek merchant marine radio operator Polycarp Spentas had an indescribably strange and unforgettable experience while working aboard the Pothiti SWJC in 1978 off Bermuda.
But he, of course, was not the only person who observed these strange phenomena in recent decades.
Over the years, this famous area between Bermuda to the north, the Bahamas to the south, and Miami, Florida to the west, has been the scene of many strange, unexplained, and disturbing events, including the disappearance of twelve Navy crew members from the USA. A seaplane patrolling the area during the war of World War II, July 10, 1945.
They left Naval Air Station Banana River in Florida the night before for a training flight to Great Exuma in the Bahamas. They were last heard from at 1:16 a.m. the following day at coordinates 25.22N, 7734W, near Providence Island. No trace of the crew or the aircraft has ever been found.
At the end of the same year, another Military aircraft with 14 pilots on board was lost, and then the aircraft sent in search of this aircraft, on board of which there were thirteen people, was also lost. As many as 155 people have died in this idyllic stretch of turquoise water east of Miami, according to some estimates.
For a SPetsos merchant marine, the legendary dangers of the area (the Bermuda Triangle) suddenly became personal in 1978, when, while performing his regular duties, he witnessed the following strange events unfold: .
As he recalls: «We left Porto Matanzas, Cuba, bound for Algiers, at an average speed of 11 miles -high speed-, but the instruments showed a constant speed of 10-11 nautical miles per hour.
» . He first suggested that perhaps I had miscalculated the time, since he was a radio operator. But this did not happen, and the ship continued to plow through the waves like a dolphin.
“At 12 o’clock in the afternoon,” Spentas continued, “the captain asked the second mate to put a Pakistani sailor at the helm, as he himself was not feeling well. He couldn’t lift his arms and his body seemed too heavy all over ».
An electrician soon arrived at the bridge, coming out of the engine room, annoyed that he noticed that all the ship’s clocks had gone forward two full hours.
“Also, the helmsman couldn’t keep a steady course, because the compass, which was gyroscopic and shielded from electromagnetic fields, was spinning like crazy! So he had to turn on autopilot and we were able to hold a steady course.”
The experienced sailor continues: “But the strangest thing about all this was what happened shortly after five o’clock in the afternoon, the cook and I were playing backgammon in the smoking room, when suddenly we looked back and saw the left of the ship, which is, from the northwest side a few miles away, in the sky, a large unidentified white flying object. Then two smaller flying objects appeared to the west of the big one, and in fact, one of them was attached to it. ‘American experiments,’ I suggested.
I left immediately and went to the bridge to ask, full of anguish, if anyone else had seen these strange artifacts. No one noticed. However, I was sure that something strange was happening over time and that we were affected by the acceleration of the movement of the UFO.
Spentsas explains: “I looked at my watch, time was ticking. I switched the radio to 500 kHz to fill the schedule and heard Morse code, but it was unnaturally fast. Response time signals are too fast, so fast I thought it was the station’s fault, writes Almanac de la
unknown Greek crew and strange and unexplained events in the Bermuda Triangle
«I jumped out of my chair, opened the wheelhouse window and looked at the captain. I could use Morse code, but I noticed that my hands couldn’t even handle five letters a minute, and it took me about two minutes to walk to the transmitter chair.
“Frustrated, I told the captain: ‘My hands just don’t work, they don’t obey me!’ He replied that no one should touch the ship’s autopilot.”
Spentas recounts that “the next day, the crew were discussing strange things that had happened to all of them.”
«. One sailor complained that as soon as he lit a cigarette, he didn’t have enough time to smoke because he burned immediately. The second mate, who had been on watch from midnight to four in the morning, went to his cabin and brushed his teeth before going to bed. He suddenly he yelled that the time had just changed to 11:40 p.m. m., so he did not have time to sleep.
“All of us right now are feeling bradycardia, an abnormally slow heart rate, as well as hypothermia.”
“For many years,” Spentsas explained to interviewers, “I have been trying to explain these curious phenomena. I believe the crew’s bradycardia and reduced reflexes are caused by so-called “gravitational time dilation.” ) emitted when the UFO accelerates to take off and other movements, cause biochemical changes in the metabolism of the human body. This process occurs in accordance with the theories of Niels Bohr and Albert Einstein,” concluded Spentsas.
Whatever really happened, more than one person experienced it on that strange day in the Atlantic. Time will tell if more evidence of strange occurrences is found in this region of the ocean.
